OGDEN — The U.S. Constitution has been around for a long time, and it’s still as hotly debated as it was when the Founding Fathers wrote it.
Weber State University presents a series of events to celebrate Constitution Week, starting Monday, on the Ogden campus at 3848 Harrison Blvd.
• Monday, 11:30 a.m. in the Shepherd Union Building Lair, "Equality — the 14th Amendment," presented by Thom Kuehls, political science professor, and history professor Susan Matt.
• Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. in the Shepherd Union Atrium, a U.S. Constitution read-a-thon.
• Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. in the Shepherd Union Lair, "Due Process of Law," presented by Chris Zimmerman, adjunct criminal justice professor.
• Thursday, 10:30 a.m. in the Shepherd Union Lair, "The People Speak—Readers Theater."
• Sept. 17, 10:30 a.m., in Shepherd Union Ballroom C, panel discussion on "The Constitutionality of the Arizona Immigration Law," featuring Lane Beattie, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, and state Rep. Stephen Sandstrom, R-Orem.
