OGDEN - The public is invited to join the Ogden Buddhist Church congregation at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, 155 North St., for its Eitaikyo and November Shotsuki Hoyo service.
Guest speaker is the Rev. Marvin Harada. He was born and raised in Ontario, Ore.
Harada has master's degrees from The Institute of Buddhist Studies and Ryukoku University in Japan.
He has been the resident minister for the Orange County Buddhist Temple since 1986.
The Eitaikyo Service is a memorial service for people who have handed down the teaching of the Nembutsu, states a church news release.
In the glossary in the Ogden church's service book, Eitaikyo is defined as a perpetual memorial service.
This is a general memorial service for all departed members of the temple.
A general meeting will follow the service.
