OGDEN -- An event for the Brody Spinden Memorial, to raise funds for Primary Children and Shriners hospitals, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Ogden Golden Corral restaurant, 988 Washington Blvd.
The memorial fund is named for Linda Child's son, who died in 2009 of a heart ailment after years of being treated at Primary Children's Medical Center. The fund held a charity softball tournament last year to benefit Primary Children's, but the money was stolen.
Child said she is working to replace the stolen funds with a series of fundraisers this year. At the restaurant, baseball players will serve as waiters, and all tips they collect will go to the fund.
