FARMINGTON -- A two-day trial has been set for a woman accused of helping a man who police say shot his father.
Judge John R. Morris set the jury trial for Sept. 5 and Sept. 6 for Karla Jean Puffpaff, 48, of Layton.
KAYSVILLE -- Police recently recovered a .22-caliber revolver near the area where a man shot his father to death in March, and a woman is facing felony charges of obstruction of justice in the same case.

FARMINGTON -- A 28-year-old man accused of shooting his father has waived a preliminary hearing.
Joseph Allen Nance recently appeared in 2nd District Court. He is charged with first-degree felony murder and third-degree felony possession of a handgun.
KAYSVILLE -- A 30-day eviction notice for tenants living at the Far West Motel could come as early as Wednesday, making way for a $6.5 million townhouse development with plans to open its first units by the end of 2011.
KAYSVILLE -- Tension is running high for 35 people living in 27 rooms at the Far West Motel.
After all, the 44-year-old Kaysville motel, 410 N. Main St., is targeted for demolition to make room for townhomes.
