FARMINGTON -- The Farmington Fire Department will host a unique event to add a first-of-its-kind piece of equipment to the department.
The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 19, at the fire station at 82 North and 100 East.
Residents are invited to spray down, dry off and then help push the department's new interface fire truck into the station as part of the event. The truck is the first of its kind in Davis County and is equipped to deal with high pressure booster lines and radio system, to deal with potential fire problems on the city's east side.
Ordered last year, the unit cost $339,273, of which approximately $100,000 was financed.
