Police identify teen killed in Farmington crosswalk

FARMINGTON — Andrew Tolman, 16, of Farmington, died Tuesday evening after he was hit by a vehicle while trying to walk through a crosswalk, said Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen.

FARMINGTON — A teenage boy died Tuesday evening after he was hit by a vehicle while trying to walk through a crosswalk.

The 16-year-old boy was walking his bicycle southbound through a crosswalk at State Street near 400 West in Farmington when he was hit by a westbound sport utility vehicle, said Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen.

Davis County dispatchers were called about the accident about 6:06 p.m.

75-year-old Farmington man accused of child sexual abuse

FARMINGTON -- A parent's phone call to the Division of Child and Family Services has landed a 75-year-old man in jail.

Police arrested LeeRoy Fry, of Farmington, on Saturday and booked him into Davis County Jail, said Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen.

Three Farmington officers recently honored

City alters policy for off-duty police work

FARMINGTON -- The city council has adopted a new policy for off-duty employment of police officers, in accordance with new state guidelines adopted in 2011.

TOOELE -- Although the commute was long, Robbie Baird liked working at Lagoon because he had good friends to work with at the amusement park.

But at 8:45 p.m. July 31, Baird's life changed when he got off FrontRunner in Farmington.

Surveillance truck headed to Layton

The Farmington Police Department will transfer title of a surveillance truck to the Layton Police Department.

The transfer was officially approved at a recent meeting by the city council by a unanimous vote.

The move allows the LPD to take ownership of a 1997 Ford Expedition which had gotten to the point that local leaders felt it was not worth the money to upgrade.
