Davis Applied Technology College team enters robotics contest

KAYSVILLE -- Davis Applied Technology College has one of 500 high school teams being sponsored this year by J.C. Penney Co., as part of the company's multiyear goal to bring For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology to more than 1,100 communities in the U.S.

FIRST is a not-for-profit organization founded by Dean Kamen to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology by engaging them in innovative robotics competitions.

DATC's FIRST team is a rookie team that will spend six weeks designing and building an original robot for the FIRST Regional Competition, scheduled for Utah Regionals on April 4-9 in Salt Lake City.
