Top dancers / Donny Osmond wins 'Dancing With the Stars'

Donny Osmond, the Ogden-born former teen idol, has become the oldest winner ever on "Dancing With the Stars."

Tuesday night's finale stretched nearly its full two hours before revealing its winner in the final moments.

In third place, Kelly Osbourne, 25 and Ozzy's little girl, and her dance coach Louis van Amstel, of Orem.

After a few more moments of suspense, singer Mya, 31 and considered by many as a favorite to win, learned she and coach Dmitry Chaplin took second place.

And Osmond, who turns 52 in two weeks, learned that he and coach Kym Johnson would take home disco-ball trophies.

Osmond hugged his dance partner, his wife and his sister, Marie. Marie Osmond was the first of her family to appear on the competitive dance show, taking third place in her season.

Donny Osmond is a father of five, and his family joined him on the dance floor.

Osmond, who suffered a bout of the flu and a broken toe during the season, kept his fans undated on Facebook and Twitter. His recent posts included "This show has more steps than a New York skyscraper," and "It's times like these I wish I had an identical twin, or a very good Donny Osmond impersonator."

Tuesday's finals broadcast included performances by the three finalists and multiple former contestants, including former Congressman Tom DeLay, who withdrew in the third week of this season.

Singers including Whitney Houston performed, and Muppet Miss Piggy interviewed former contestant Cloris Leachman.
