This Friday is the third year for the Just for Her Women's Fair and the Taste of Home Cooking School, and the women who attended year two have a message for you.
"They had a blast," said Jennifer Thorpe, Standard-Examiner event coordinator.
"The ladies told me they really loved it. They said on their conference evaluations they liked that they could attend as many or as few of the classes that interested them. They liked to pick and choose."
In 2008, about 600 women attended the women's conference (with a ticket that also included admission to the Taste of Home Cooking School). Attendance for the cooking school was about 1,600, Thorpe said.
The women's fair speakers will address such topics as starting your own business, finding inner beauty and confidence, enhancing health, decreasing stress, scrapbooking, cooking and baking, weight management, marriage and relationship tips, and raising responsible children and teens.
The Taste of Home Cooking school will feature a presentation by Kristi Larson of Taste of Home Productions, in Greendale, Wis.
Larson will offer recipes, preparation tips and an update on the latest trends in the food industry.
