Put a bang in your Fourth festivities

The following Fourth of July activities will be held in Davis County:

Centerville

Festivities begin on Friday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. with a children's parade. At 7 p.m. local award winning magician Mike Hamilton will entertain, followed by a concert with The Super Crescent Band under the pavilion at 8 p.m. Immediately following the concert will be a celebration with fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m.

On Saturday, July 3, a breakfast will be served in the Founders Park parking lot, adjacent to Centerville Elementary School, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. They will be serving pancakes, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, ham, orange juice or milk. Breakfast will be $3 for children ages 10 and over and adults, and $2 for children 9 and under. Flanders Fiddlers of Centerville will serenade the diners.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m., starting at Chase Lane and Main Street and ending at Pages Lane. Following the parade, music will begin under the pavilion. Music and entertainment will be provided from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. by local performers. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a police auction under the pavilion, and the annual quilt show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centerville Elementary School, in the covered courtyard.

Clearfield

On Saturday, July 3, Boy Scout Troop 385 will serve a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Macey's parking lot, 580 S. State St. The annual Freedom 5K run and 2-mile walk starts at 7 a.m. at the Clearfield Muncipal Building, 55 S. State St. It is $18 on race day. Children ages 12 and younger pay $10.

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Street and Center Street, and continues east on 700 South ending at Clearfield High School.

The Fisher Park Festival starts at 6 p.m. with food vendors, games and inflatable toys at Fisher Park, 935 S. 1000 East, and live entertainment, including the Clearfield Community Band at 6 p.m. and headliner band The Soulistics at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. There will also be an outdoor theater production of "She Loves Me" by the Clearfield Community Theater group at 7:30 p.m. at the Bicentennial Park Outdoor Amphitheater, 931 E. 600 South. Fruit Heights/Kaysville

The Kaysville/Fruit Heights Independence Day celebration starts with the annual devotional at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, at Davis High School auditorium. The speaker is KSL radio talk show host Doug Wright. This is a free event for the public.

The 3 on 3 basketball tournament is from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, and from 10 a.m. to finish on July 2 at the Davis High parking lot, 550 S. Main St.

The annual theatrical production is "Seussical the Musical" staged at the DHS auditorium on June 30 and July 1, 2, 5 and 6 beginning at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, July 3, at 3 p.m. Cost is $7 per person or $35 per family of up to six people. Tickets are available at Bowman's, the city offices and at the door.

On Saturday, July 3, an antique cannon will go off at 6 a.m. The annual breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the 5K/10K run begins at 7:30 a.m at Davis High School track/stadium.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and goes from 300 South to Main Street, north on Main to 100 North, and east to 200 East, then along 200 East to 200 South.

There will be a helicopter candy drop following the parade at the Davis High baseball field. The new family festival with booths and entertainment is at the DATC Park from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Kaysville Fruit Heights Idol winners will perform from 8:30 p.m. on the Showtime stage at the DATC Park, 550 South. The fireworks extravaganza and music will begin at approximately 10 p.m. in the DHS/DATC area.

Layton

A patriotic concert, "Voices of Liberty," will be performed at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater.

Layton Liberty Days will be celebrated at Layton Commons Park on Monday, July 5, beginning with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. at the North Bowery. Cost is $22 per family up to five members, or $5.50 for ages 12 and up and $3.50 for children under 12. Children under 3 eat free. Registration for the Fun Run/Walk also begins at 6:30 a.m. Cost is $15 pre-registration, or $25 the day of the race.

A flag-raising ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater, followed by ball games and the Dutch oven cookoff at 9 a.m. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m., and the children's carnival, concessions and entertainment begin at 12:30 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the New American Philharmonic with cannoneers will perform, followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

North Salt Lake

On Saturday, July 3, the 13th annual NSL 5K Fun Run will be held at 7 a.m. at Fox Hollow Park at the intersection of Foxboro Drive and Fox Hollow Drive, near Foxboro Elementary School. Register online by following the link at www.nslcity.org, in person at North Salt Lake City Hall, or at 6 a.m. at Fox Hollow Park the day of the event.

Starting at 6 p.m., there will be games, food, live bands, fly-overs, sky divers and family picnics at Eaglewood Golf Course, 1110 E. Eaglewood Drive, ending with a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m.

West Bountiful

On Friday, July 2, rock the night away at 8 p.m. with "Endless Summer Band" with a Twist. At 10 p.m., there will be fireworks by Lantis sponsored by Holly Corp.

On Saturday, July 3, the parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at 4th North and 800 West. At 11:30 a.m., park events will include a talent fair, free children's activities to include a clown, bouncy toys and games. You can purchase a pet frog, eat cotton candy and snowcones, enter the Costco hot dog or watermelon eating contest, the cookie contest or postcard contest.

On Monday, July 5, there will be a flag raising ceremony at 7 a.m. at City Hall, 550 N. 800 West.

The following Fourth of July activities will be held in Weber County:

Farr West

On Monday, July 5, there will be a parade at 9:30 a.m. beginning at the intersection of 1800 North and 1800 West and ending at Mountain View Park. Dinner will be from 5-8 p.m. at the park and skydivers will descend at 9 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

North Ogden

North Ogden will celebrate its annual Cherry Days festivities on July 3. A flag ceremony will start the day at 6 a.m. at Bicentennial Park, 2650 N. Washington Blvd. The Kiwanis Club will serve its annual breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at North Ogden Park, 2685 N. 500 East. The 5K run will start at 7 a.m. at the IHC Health Center. The children's parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on Washington Boulevard with the Cherry Days parade to follow at 10 a.m. Activities will begin in North Ogden park at noon.

At 7 p.m. T Minus 5 will perform at the Weber High School football stadium with fireworks to follow at dusk.

Ogden

The annual Hot Rock'n Fourth celebration will be held at Ogden Pioneer Stadium, 700 Canyon Road.

The gates open at 1 p.m. Activities include Family Plaza with carnival games, kid rides, bungee trampoline, dunk tank, rock wall, and more. There will be live entertainment, including magic shows, jugglers, face painting, and more. Remembering the Fab Four performance will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The demolition derby starts at 6 p.m., and there will be local entertainment at 9:30 p.m. if time permits before fireworks. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for adults and $7 for children, or $15 for adults and $10 when purchased the day of the event. The event is free for children under age 3. Plain City

All activities will be held at the Lee Olsen Park next to City Hall. On Friday, July 2, a car show will be held at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and a dog show at 7:30 p.m. A movie will be shown at dusk.

On Saturday, July 3, there will be a wake up call at 6:30 a.m., breakfast at 7 a.m. and a children's parade beginning at 8:15 a.m. with the regular parade beginning at 8:30 a.m. At 10 a.m. there will be a flag ceremony at the city offices, and vendor booths, blow-up jumping toys, a raffle and contests will begin. A polo ATV derby is at 1 p.m. and mud volleyball at 3 p.m. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. at Fremont High School, 1900 N. 4700 West.

Riverdale

On Saturday, July 3, a sunrise service and flag raising ceremony will be held at 7 a.m in Riverdale Park at the new amphitheater. From 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the Lions Club will serve breakfast at the Riverdale Park bowery. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12. All proceeds go to charity. A 5K Run/Walk will be held at the new Riverdale Elementary east parking lot, 1160 W. 4400 South. Check in begins at 6:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 7:15 a.m. and the run starting at 7:30 a.m. Participants must pre-register; forms are online or at the Community Center.

The Pedals & Paws Children's Parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the corner of 700 West and 4400 South. The Old Glory Days Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. The parade route will run west along 4400 South starting at 700 West going to Parker Drive and then north to Riverdale Park.

Riverdale Park festivities will be held at 4300 S. Parker Drive. The Dutch oven cook-off starts at 8 a.m. At 11 a.m. booths will be open, offering games, food, and fun. The Veterans Committee will hold a fundraiser for the new veterans memorial. There will be a basketball hoop for a basketball shoot and a raffle drawing for prizes.

Free children's games for ages 11 and under will be held in the upper park area from 11 a.m. to noon. The watermelon eating contest begins at noon and the pie-eating contest is at 1 p.m. Pre-register online at www.riverdalecity.com or at the Community Center before July 3.

Entertainment has been lined up from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fireworks extravaganza will begin at dusk.

The following Fourth of July activities will be held in Box Elder County:

Brigham City

Celebrations will begin on Monday, July 5, at 8 a.m. with a breakfast at Rees Pioneer Park, 720 W. Forest St. An interfaith patriotic program will begin at 9 a.m. Ballgames and horseshoes will begin at 1 p.m., and family games such as three-legged races, gunny sack races and more will begin at 2 p.m. A concert in the park by LoKalGrown will begin at 8 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk.

Perry

The city's Fourth of July celebration will be held Monday, July 5. Visit www.perrycity.org for details.

Willard

Fourth of July festivities will begin with a patriotic program at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at the Willard Church, 80 W. 100 North.

The firefighter's dinner will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, July 2, at the Central Park Bowery at 50 N. 100 West, followed by a raffle and the firefighter's dance. That same evening at 5:30 p.m., a three-on-three basketball tournament will begin. For more details, contact Caleb Jeppsen at 801-827-8478.

On Saturday, July 3, a flag ceremony will be held at 6:30 a.m. at City Hall, followed by breakfast. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., followed by games and a candy drop. At 6 p.m., activities will move to Willow Park east of town, where there will be food and entertainment until dark. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.

The following Fourth of July activities will be held in Morgan County:

Morgan

On Saturday, July 3, activities begin at 7 a.m. with a 5K fun run and pancake breakfast beginning at Riverside Park, 195 E. 125 North, Morgan city. A flag ceremony complete with a cannon blast will be held at 8 a.m.

With entries centered on the theme of "What Freedom Means," a parade will start at 9 a.m. Entrants line up at the Wilkinson Complex. A children's carnival, karate, magic show, skate jam, mountain man and vendor booths will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Riverside Park.

A change of venue will begin at 5:30 p.m., when entertainment will begin at the Morgan High School football field. A fireworks and sound show will commence at 10 p.m. See www.morgan4th.com for fun run and parade registration, vendor booth information and donor needs.
