Island vibe brings end to concerts

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Arts Council's summer concert series closes with a little island music.

Syracuse's Music of Polynesia dances and sings songs of the islands at 7 p.m. today in Centennial Park, 1800 S. 2000 West.

The performance is free, and picnics are welcome. Dinner is also available for purchase, for $8.

Celebrate summer's end at music fest

WEST HAVEN -- The West Haven Youth Council is presenting an end-of-summer music festival to support an all-ages venue in the city.

The show is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Warehouse, an all-ages venue at 2017 W. Commerce Way.

The event is a multi-band night, including acts from the Ogden area such as Cheatwood, Athena's Score and FoxWood. Musical styles include acoustic rock, metal, alt rock and pop rock.

Cover charge is $5, at the door.

Spiritual tunes on tap at amphitheater

LAYTON -- Marshall McDonald and Steven Sharp Nelson, pianist and cellist respectively, perform spiritual tunes at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Kenley Centennial Amphitheater, 403 N. Wasatch Drive.

The two ment founded Sandy-based Maywood Music, which features LDS sheet music.

Musician siblings tune up for grill gig

OGDEN -- Bella's Fresh Mexican Grill continues its music series with a show by the sibling band Truman. The show is at 8 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant, 2651 N. 1850 West.

Chad and Ben Truman, of Nashville, Tenn., play blue-eyed soul that draws from the likes of John Mayer and Stevie Wonder. Both Truman brothers attended Brigham Young Univesity, where they took first in a Battle of the Bands two years ago.

Their father is Dan Truman, keyboardist for Diamond Rio and other acts.

Tickets are $6. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Dinners will be available for purchase before and during the show.

Two Weeks' Notice, Pony in meadow

SNOWBASIN -- Two concerts come to the slopes of Snowbasin this weekend.

The shows are at Wildflower Meadow at the resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, above Huntsville.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Ogden classic rockers Two Weeks' Notice play, serenading the 5K and 10K runners competing in the mountains that morning.

On Sunday, the summer concert series brings the Davis County-based band Red Shot Pony to the resort. They play power pop, rock, country and more.

Endless Summer has golden oldies

BOUNTIFUL -- The city closes out its summer concert series with classic summertime songs.

The show, called Endless Summer, features golden oldies from the Beach Boys, The Ventures and more, played by Bountiful band Amber Summer.

The show is at 7 p.m. today at the Bowery Stage in Bountiful City Park, 400 N. 200 West.
