Matters of the heart

1"Jennifer and myself met back in April of 2007, after Jennifer had flown in from Ogden to Nashville for a demo session I had set up for her."

The music drew them together, but there was more than work bringing the two closer.

"There was an attraction beyond music, which led to hours on the phone long distance and knowing there was something special," he said. "After a short time, Jennifer had moved to Nashville, where we decided to collaborate with each other as a duet -- thus the name 'Hearts of Steele' was formed. We performed at many venues in Nashville, including the Nashville Palace, Tootsie's, The Bluebird Cafe and ... also performing for the troops at events.

"A year after meeting, we moved from Nashville to Ogden, and put together a band after about six months."

That band includes Larry Runckles (lead guitar), Ken Woodward (bass guitar), Glenn Christianson (keyboards) and Julian Operhal (drums).

"Later on, after playing with the guys for a while, we decided to give the players a name as well, so I came up with Hearts of Steele & The Steele Workers," said Brasseur.

"We have been together now for a year and have really jelled into a tight band."
