It's the perfect time for a holiday hayride
LAYTON -- Enjoy a hayride through Layton Commons Park this holiday season.
The rides go from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18. The wagon will load and unload at Burger Stop, 323 E. Gentile St. Santa will be there; bring your own camera to take pictures with him.
This event is sponsored by Layton City, Wasatch Rod and Customs, and Burger Stop. All proceeds will go to charity.
Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for ages 5-11. Tickets will be sold at Burger Stop.

Alphabet Soup brings cultures close
OGDEN -- Explore how different cultures and countries celebrate the holidays through stories and art at the Treehouse Museum's Alphabet Soup program.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 3, 10 and 17, you can learn about Las Posadas, Hanukkah, Weihnachten, Kwanzaa and more.
The museum is at 347 22nd St. Admission is $3 for children and $1 for their grown-ups.

Dinner, auction to benefit foundation
TREMONTON -- Bear River Valley Hospital Foundation is celebrating health by hosting its Jubilee of Trees with dinner and a silent auction.
The event will take place at Call's Country Nursery, 9880 N. 5200 West.
The holiday dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the cost is $20 per person and requires reservations. Guests will also get a preview of the trees.
There will be fully decorated Christmas trees and other holiday decor items available for bid at the silent auction, which is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Dec. 3. Admission is free.
Santa Claus will also make a visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 3.

You can experience a traditional holiday
WELLSVILLE -- Get away from the modern holiday season by celebrating old Christmas traditions of the West -- a wagon ride, Christmas feast and barn dance -- at the American West Heritage Center, 4025 S. U.S. 89-91.
At next weekend's Country Christmas Feast, guests are welcome to dress up in any type of period attire. The food will be cooked in Dutch ovens, and entertainment will be Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" retold with a Wild West approach.
The feast is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4. Tickets for the dinner and dance are $29.50 for adults and $24.50 for children. If you would like to attend just the barn dance, it is $7.50 per person and will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Cache gallery walk set for Dec. 3
LOGAN -- Celebrate the holiday season with the Cache Valley Center for the Arts' December Gallery Walk on Dec. 3.
The free winter walk will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with more than 20 locations, such as the Thatcher-Young Mansion, St. John's Episcopal Church, the Summerfest Office and Gallery, Utah Public Radio, participating.
In downtown Logan, there will also be the annual gingerbread walk. Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite gingerbread piece.
The featured artwork is created by some of Cache Valley's well-known and upcoming artists. Many of the artists will be selling their work.
