Legacy Prep’s choir sings for Cami

Students from Legacy Preparatory Academy‘s Madrigal Choir group recently braved blustery winds to give a private outdoor performance to 5-year-old Cami Carver, a local child battling leukemia.

The group sang melodious songs including a lullaby. Then the youngster watched as Landry Thomas gave a charming rendition of “That’s How You Know” from the Disney movie Enchanted.

Many students have been keeping tabs on Cami through the blog her mom set up during the summer when she was first diagnosed. The students have committed to help the family with their mounting medical bills and to try and help Cami stay positive despite her obstacles. The high school Social Leadership club, a club based on leadership development and engaging in social responsibilities, has chosen the “Kisses for Cami” cause for their holiday service project. The high school student body officers have plans to keep the momentum going by planning further outreach activities for Cami throughout the year.
