'Toy Story 2,' 'Grace Is Gone' featured at library
WASHINGTON TERRACE -- Pleasant Valley Library will screen a modern children's classic and a former Sundance film over the next few days.
* "Toy Story 2" (1999, G) plays at 3 p.m. Saturday. Buzz and the toy box gang leap to the rescue when Woody is stolen by a collector.
* "Grace Is Gone" (2007, PG-13) screens at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The audience award winner is a drama about a father (John Cusack) who learns his Army sergeant wife has been killed in Iraq, and he takes his daughters on a spontaneous road trip.
Sensory-friendly 'Narnia' set at Layton Hills 9
LAYTON -- A Layton theater on Saturday will offer a sensory-friendly screening of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."
The AMC Theater/Autism Society screening is geared for autistic individuals and their families. House lights will be left up, sound will be lowered slightly, and families are invited to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks. Moving around and talking will be allowed.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" (PG) returns siblings Lucy and Edmund, and cousin Eustace, to the land of Narnia, where they encounter warriors, dwarves, dragons and others.
Tickets for the special screening are $4, and can be purchased at the box office prior to the 10 a.m. Saturday screening. Layton Hills 9 is at 728 W. 1425 North. Call (888) 262-4386 for information.
'Don Carlo' screening live at three theaters
Fathom Events will host live screenings of the Metropolitan Opera performing Verdi's "Don Carlo" at three local theaters on Saturday.
The 1867 opera, about a royal love triangle, will screen at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Newgate Tinseltown, 3651 Wall Ave., Ogden; Layton Tinseltown, 720 W. 1500 North; Cinemark Bountiful 8, 206 S. 625 West. Tickets are $15-$22, available through www.fathomevents.com.
The opera repeats, in a tape-delayed format, at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5.
