Power pole and loop to be relocated

City officials are officially moving forward with plans to relocate a power pole and loop, located in an area near I-15, which will be widened next year.

In action taken recently, the council voted unanimously to buy a steel power structure to replace a wooden pole and anchors at I-15 and Pages Lane for a cost of $16,279. Costs for the structure and engineering for the project will be reimbursed by the Utah Department of Transportation.

The purchase comes on the heels of a vote earlier this year to hire Electrical Consultants Inc. to help with the project.

UDOT plans to widen the lane between the 500 West on-ramp at Bountiful to the Parrish Lane off-ramp. Currently the lane merges with four other lanes just north of Bountiful.
