Capsule reviews, by Standard-Examiner movie critic Steve Salles, of next week's releases:
THE SOCIAL NETWORK *** 1/2 (PG-13) Sexual content, drug and alcohol use and language. The beginnings of the social network Facebook is fascinating, even if you don't own a computer (although it would help). The creators must deal with vast amounts of money and notoriety. See how it affects them in this well-made, fast-talking film. Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer and Rashida Jones star. 120 minutes.
ALPHA AND OMEGA ** 1/2 (PG) Rude humor and some mild action. A lowly boy wolf has the hots for the pack's young alpha female, but a union between the two is deemed taboo. They will go on a trip of self-discovery and learn about true love. I will learn that you can throw just about anything on a movie screen, call it 3-D and at least two other idiots will pay the exorbitant fee to see it. 88 minutes.
PIRANHA 3D ** 1/2 (R) Sequences of strong bloody horror violence and gore, graphic nudity, sexual content, language and some drug use. This one is dumb spring-break kids being dismembered by ravenous marine life. How is that not funny? If you find no joy or humor in that, may I suggest "Eat Pray Love"? 89 minutes.

Also being released:
THE FREEBIE (R) Sexual situations, profanity. A couple hatches a highly dubious scheme to put the spark back in their marriage in this independent comedy/drama. 77 minutes.
