B.R.I.D.G.E.S. (Building Recovery of Individual Dreams and Goals through Education and Support), a 10-week course for consumers of mental health services and those interested in establishing and maintaining their wellness and recovery, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Weber Human Services, 237 26th Street, room 245, Ogden. Topics include: brain biology and mental illness, medications review, schizophrenia and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, problem-solving and communication, building support and crisis avoidance planning, community support services, healthy living and whole-body healing. It is a peer-to-peer class taught by trained individuals who have personal experience with mental illness.

Family-To-Family, a 12-week course for families and friends of people who have mental illness, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Weber Human Services, 237 26th Street, room 102, Ogden. This course is for family members who meet to support each other and receive valuable education about signs and symptoms of mental illness, medications, emotional stages of reaction to the illness, effective coping skills, problem-solving, empathy, communication skills, recovery and advocacy.

Defensive driving classes offered by Utah Safety Council, four-hour defensive driving courses for individuals in the Ogden area, 8 a.m.-noon, two Saturdays per month; 6-10 p.m., one Tuesday per month. Drivers may complete the course for a 50-point reduction from their Utah driving record, once every three years. Registration is $40 per person, or $10 for those age 55 and over who are seeking a reduction in their insurance rate. Programs are designed to help scouts fulfill their merit badge requirements. Reservations are required. Layton City Family Recreation Family Skate Night, 7:30-8:30 p.m., Weber County Ice Sheet, 4390 Harrison Blvd, northwest parking lot of the Dee Events Center).
