School gets grant for instruments

The 100 Percent For Kids Credit Union Education Foundation recently awarded a $2,500 grant to Bountiful Junior High School to aid in the purchase of musical instruments.

Bountiful Junior High teacher Lorrina Allred said, “As a band teacher, I rely on my music inventory and the quality of the equipment, and we are lacking in both areas.

“This grant will make an immense difference for our music classes in grades 7-9, and I hope that the new equipment will boost confidence and participation in our music program,” she said.

The instruments needed include a timpani, xylophone, and tuba.

The 100% For Kids Credit Union Education Foundation was founded by Utah’s Credit Unions in 2002, to provide much-needed funds to Utah classrooms. Funds are contributed by Credit Unions, credit union members and anyone committed to improving education in Utah.
