Gallery Theater play looks at aspects of love
OGDEN -- The Gallery Theater plans to warm some hearts on this cold winter weekend, with a love-themed variety show, "The Reach of You."
Clarence Socwell, theater founder, begins the show with a poem that asks why, in the pursuit of love, we can't all be like Attis, son of Cybele, who remained forever young and fresh as violets in spring. Other performers explore the highs, the lows and the evolution of love, through poetry and music.
A quartet, the Fourtunate Gents, will entertain with a medley from "Music Man." The Gents are Brady Cash and Jeremy Nordfelt, Centerville; Steve Plowman, Bountiful; and Jonathon D. Crittenden, South Weber.
Additional performers include Jessica Morgan, Amy Elmer and Judy Johns, Pleasant View; and James Aldridge, Layton.
Shows in the intimate theater are at 7 p.m. today, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. The Gallery Theater is downstairs at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Ave. Tickets are $8. For reservations, call 801-392-6935.
