PLAIN CITY -- Fremont High School students will offer a program of student-directed one-act plays.
Students will present "The Lottery," directed by Brenna Antunez; "Check, Please," directed by Parker Greenwell; "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Fifth Period," Wendy Bowers; "The Turn of the Screw," Natalie Nichols; and "Timmy the Time Traveling Teen," directed by Joey Hanzlik, who also wrote the piece.
Each play is about 30 minutes, and three will be presented each night, at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Feb. 5. Tickets are $3, and are available at the door. Fremont High is at 1900 N. 4700 West.
Drama teacher Aubrey Obray said her advanced-class students call on their accumulated theatrical and analytical knowledge when they select, cast, direct and produce the plays.
"I really try to take a step back and let the students do all the work to get their play ready for an audience. What I love about this project is really seeing the students grow."
