Watercolors earn wins

OGDEN -- Winners of the Utah Watercolor Society's Two Star/Signature Member Exhibition were named last weekend, during the show's opening reception at the Eccles Community Art Center.

The Best of Show award went to Irene Rampton of Salt Lake City, for a painting called "That's the Last Time Anyone Saw Uncle George." Awards of Excellence were given to Kristi Grussendorf of North Logan and Marian C. Dunn of Salt Lake City.

Merit awards went to Roland Lee of St. George, Sue Martin of Murray, and Dianne Adams of Deweyville. Lynda L. Burruss of Providence, Sue Valentine of Salt Lake City and Diana Edvalson of Ogden won Juror Awards. Edvalson was also presented the Ogden Blue Print Award.

The juror was Jim Jacobs, chairman of the visual arts department at Weber State University.

The exhibit remains on display through March 26 at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
