D'Arc to discuss Utah filmmaking

Learn the rich history of Utah as it has served as the backdrop for Hollywood movies.

A "Movie Making in Utah" presentation will be given at 7 p.m. Monday by James V. D'Arc, curator of the Brigham Young University Motion Picture Archive and author of "When Hollywood Came To Town" (Gibbs Smith, 2010). "Footloose," "SLC Punk," "Con Air," and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" are just a few of the films shot in Utah.

The presentation is in the Lindquist Alumni Center, Weber State University, 3848 Harrison Blvd., Ogden. The event is free and open to the public.
