OGDEN -- Comedy veteran Bill Bellamy will be playing in Ogden and West Valley City next week.
Bellamy, a star from MTV and film, has been a stand-up fixture for more than two decades. He became prominent in Def Comedy Jam performances before moving over to be a VJ for MTV Jams, where he helped blend music with sports.
He is credited with creating the expression "booty call" as part of his comedy material. The phrase became even more popular after the 1997 movie "Booty Call" with Shawn Wayans, Tommy Davidson and Vivica A. Fox.
He has a long list of acting credits, including starring roles in "How to Be a Player" and "Any Given Sunday."
Bellamy performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wiseguys Comedy Cafe, 269 Historic 25th St., Ogden. He also appears at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. April 15 and 16 at Wiseguys Comedy Cafe, 2194 W. 3500 South, West Valley City.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.wiseguyscomedy.com. The show is for age 18 and over.
