BRIGHAM CITY -- The magic of art and storytelling come together in the Fine Arts Center's annual ART-TELL event. This year's theme is "See the Magic!"
The magic starts Monday, with a display of youth story illustrations at Utah State University's Brigham City campus, 265 W. 1100 South. The exhibit continues 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Wednesday. During the exhibit, youngsters will tell their favorite stories, followed by USU faculty members sharing tales from children's books. The free daily events include hands-on craft activities and prize drawings.
Then ART-TELL moves to the Fine Arts Center, 58 S. 100 West, Brigham City, for an art show by high school students and adults. The "See the Magic!"-themed exhibit is open to artists age 15 and older who live in Box Elder, Cache and Weber counties. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, fiber art, quilting and photos will be accepted 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a fee of $5 per entry.
Art will be on display 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through April 16, and visitors are invited to vote for the People's Choice award through 6:30 p.m. on the final day. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. April 16 during a reception. Admission is free.
ART-TELL is a fundraiser for the Fine Arts Center. A silent auction will be open 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 16, with bid items including family photography, a $100 gift certificate from a landscape company, a $250 USU/ Brigham City tuition waiver and movie passes.
