Don't miss

"American Idol" -- Who's in it to win it?! After weeks of Steven Tyler craziness, occasional glimmers of genuine artistry and some wildly inconsistent judging, we're finally ready to crown a champion on television's most popular talent show. (And it's not a moment too soon for Jennifer Lopez, who was about to run low on curve-hugging outfits). We didn't know what to expect from a post-Simon "Idol," but, for the most part, Season 10 has been a blast -- especially compared to last year's snoozefest. The two remaining finalists square off on Tuesday and then, on Wednesday, one lucky singer will wallow in high-fives and confetti. 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, KSTU Channel 13.

Other bets

l It's all about sales and airplay -- and not necessarily artistic merit -- at The 2011 Billboard Music Awards. Ken Jeong ("Community") hosts this year's gala in Las Vegas. 7 p.m. today, KTVX Channel 4.

l "The Celebrity Apprentice" brings its highly combustible season to an end as John Rich and Marlee Matlin vie for the title. Too bad. We'd rather see NeNe Leakes and Star Jones throw down again. 8 p.m. today, KSL Channel 5.

l Having already taken on "Star Wars" and "The Empire Strikes Back," the deranged goofballs of "Family Guy" retell the story of "Return of the Jedi" in their season finale. May the farce be with them. 8 p.m. today, KSTU Channel 13.

l It's going to be a little tougher to watch the season finale of "House" now that we know Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) won't be returning to the show next fall. Somehow, though, we'll carry on. 7 p.m. Monday, KSTU Channel 13.

l Fire up the hot tub. A new season of "The Bachelorette" begins as Ashley Hebert, Brad Womack's recent second runner-up, gets acquainted with her 25 suitors. 8 p.m. Monday, KTVX Channel 4.

l Looking to take a huge bite out of the Big Apple, the "Glee" kids head to New York to compete at the Nationals. Patti LuPone appears as herself in the season 2 finale. 8 p.m. Tuesday, KSTU Channel 13.

l Who will waltz off with that hideous mirror-ball trophy? We'll find out tonight in the "Dancing With the Stars" finale, which figures to culminate, as always, in cheese-tastic style. 8 p.m. Tuesday, KTVX Channel 4.

l After 25 years of reigning supreme, Oprah Winfrey, the queen of daytime TV (and of so much else), brings an end to her syndicated talk show. We expect the tissue tally to be off the charts. 4 pm. Wednesay, KTVX Channel 4.

l Any excuse for a tropical vacation. On the season finale of "Cougar Town," the gang goes chasing after Travis when he abruptly moves to Hawaii. The episode airs after the season finales of "The Middle" and "Modern Family." 8:31 p.m. Wednesday, KTVX Channel 4.

l One dance show concludes, and another one launches. "So You Think You Can Dance" kicks off its eighth season with two rounds of auditions and welcomes back Mary Murphy to the judges' panel. 7 p.m. Thursday, KSTU Channel 13.

l On "River Monsters: The Lost Reels," angler Jeremy Wade goes after the arapaima, one of the world's largest freshwater fish. We just want to know if it tastes good with butter sauce. 7 p.m. Friday, Animal Planet.

l "My Favorite Place" is a new home-decor series in which celebrities and notable designers show off their abodes. In the opener, comedian Kathy Griffin offers a tour of her living quarters. 4 p.m. Saturday, HGTV.
