Syracuse develops plans for fitness program

A move to institute a new physical fitness program for city employees has been given a big boost by a simple idea, according to City Manager Bob Rice.

Rice said employees suggested the city look at installing showers in the city recreation center, as a way of making that site more attractive to people eager to improve their physical fitness.

He said the move is feasible and can be done economically later this year, using city work crews.

He said the change will come with minimal costs.
