* Michael Scott reads from and signs "The Warlock" (Delacorte Books, $18.99), the fifth book in his best-selling series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Barnes & Noble, 7157 Plaza Center Drive, West Jordan. This is a free event.

* Author events this week at The King's English Bookshop include: Utah young adult author Elana Johnson reads from and signs her debut novel "Possession" (Simon Pulse, $17.99) at 7 p.m. Wednesday; Washington author Karl Marlantes reads from and signs his New York Times best-selling novel "Matterhorn" (Grove Press, $15.95) at 7 p.m. Thursday. These are free events at the bookshop, 1511 S. 1500 East, Salt Lake City.

* Utah authors Chris and Ted Stewart discuss their work at 7 p.m. Friday at the Logan Taberncle. The Stewart brothers penned the book, "Seven Miracles That Saved America: Why They Matter and Why We Should Have Hope" (Shadow Mountain, 2009).
