The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has awarded Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College Foundation a grant in the amount of $3,000 to fund scholarships for students in the electrical trades, President Collette R. Mercier announced.
Funding will provide critical assistance to low-income and academically talented students enrolled in any of the college's three programs, Mercier said in a news release. Providing scholarship funding for technical education is an excellent investment in the future of Weber County's economy. The college placed more than 80 percent of its graduates in training-related employment.
The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Rocky Mountain Power. Its mission is to support the growth and vitality of the communities it serves. Since 1988, the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has awarded more than $51 million to nonprofit organizations.
