Added art planned for Farmington Festival Days

The city’s annual Festival Days celebration will have an added touch of art this year.

A number of local artists are expected to showcase local landscape paintings during the celebration, which will eventually be part of the new décor for City Hall.

Councilman Jim Talbot said the Interior Design Committee has chosen several artists, who planned to have their paintings finished in late June, for display during Festival Days, which are scheduled July 5.

Talbot said there will be seven pictures from the various artists featured. Each artist has selected a picture depicting something about Farmington, which they wanted to paint. The artwork will be showcased in the Chamber Room on the second floor. In addition, some of the artists will set up a gallery of their work in City Hall.
