The Arthritis Foundation Utah/Idaho Chapter focuses on improving lives through leadership in the prevention control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas. For more information call 801-536-0900.

The Road Home works to help people step out of homelessness and back into the community. Volunteers are needed to play with children while their parents are in a family team meeting with their case manager. The playroom is open 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Also, from 1-4 p.m every Thursday each month, volunteers are needed to help clients move from the shelter into housing. Volunteers are needed to visit patients in their homes, nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities. Your Community Connection promotes a safe and stable environment for families. It offers needed assistance through the domestic violence victim assistance center, homeless and housing assistance center and family enrichment center. Youth of Promise is a service organization of young people age 14-18. They work closely with other Davis County service organizations to provide service and help improve the community. Volunteers are needed to help with fundraising for the Memorial Monument being built at the Utah State University Botanical Center in Kaysville. Donations are also needed for this project. American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. Volunteers are needed to provide clients with transportation services, one-on-one discussions, and facilitate support groups. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah matches low income single parent children (ages 6-12) with caring adult volunteer mentors. Volunteers will provide children and youth with individualized time and attention on a regular basis, typically two-four times a month, for two to three hours. Boys and Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis provides after-school and summer programs for kids ages 6-18. Volunteers are needed to assist program coordinators in teaching daily programs. The areas in need of help are character and leadership, education and career, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness and recreation. Court-appointed special advocate serves abused and neglected children that are involved in the Juvenile Court system through no fault of their own. Volunteers needed to serve as the eyes and ears of Office of the Guardian ad Litem and the court by gathering information about the child and the family, and most importantly, getting to know the child. Catholic Community Services needs volunteers in the food bank and to assist clients at food distributions sites throughout the community. Volunteers are needed to pick up groceries, deliver food boxes and baby layettes, organize donation drives, maintain buildings and grounds, help in the office, provide professional services such as legal interpreters, transportation, painters, jamitorial services and instructors, and more.
