The walking path has now been paved on Pleasant View Drive. Councilman Tim Hjorten said he has been running on the path and talked to residents using it.
"I talked to one couple pushing a baby in a stroller, they said 'This is so cool'," said Hjorten. "They were excited, they were just plain excited."
Councilwoman Mae Ferguson said the walking path is not an uphill walk which will appeal to older residents of the city as well.
In other city news, Community Developer Bruce Talbot said there has been growth in the city, with 39 single family homes being built in the past fiscal year, as well as 21 mobile homes going into mobile home parks. He also said there have been 33 home improvement permits issued such as additions of basements and roofing.
