Plain City dog show raises money for shelters

The Plain City Fourth of July celebration dog show on Saturday raised nearly $1,200 to support local animal shelters and 400 pounds of dog food was donated as well as pet blankets and bowls.

Dog show organizer Sherry Bradford said businesses in Plain City and surrounding areas donated generously in both cash and raffle prizes to support the cause. First-place winners got to show off again in the city’s parade on the Fourth.

The categories for the dog show were Best Dressed, with Nancy Merrill and Sassy as first place winner; Best Trick, with Glenna Foremaster with Misty and Jaycee Bradford with Ellie tied for first place; All American Dog, coming in first place was Martin Locke with Molly; Best Groomed, first place winners were Blakely Bell with Pepper and Nancy Merrill with Sassy. First-place winners in the Owner-Dog Look Alike category were Kayleigh Halbash with LuLu and Jaycee Bradford with Ellie.
