ICE gunman opened fire during job counseling

LONG BEACH, Calif. — A federal immigration agent killed a colleague who had shot a high-ranking official six times while being counseled on his job performance inside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office, the FBI said Friday.

Authorities identified the gunman in the Thursday evening attack as supervisory special agent Ezequiel Garcia, 45, and the victim as Kevin Kozak, 51, deputy special agent in charge of the Los Angeles area.

Streets are closed in downtown Long Beach surrounding the federal building on Ocean Boulevard after an ICE agent shot and injured another agent and was then killed by a third colleague in a federal building in Long Beach according to the FBI. LOS ANGELES — A confrontation between federal law enforcement agents erupted in gunfire Thursday evening in Long Beach, leaving one dead and another seriously injured, authorities said.
