SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police say a 62-year-old man is dead following a fight at a downtown gas station Wednesday night.

OGDEN — The owner of the Greenwhale said the men involved in a street fight Friday morning had not been drinking in his bar.

“They went into the bar and we wouldn’t serve them,” manager Chris Chournos said. “They tried to get into a fight with the customers. Our customers called the police.”

OGDEN -- A group of 15 or more gang members beat three men who complained about a botched car-repair job Sunday, sending one to a hospital, police said.

CLEARFIELD — Jay Jones is still shocked that a shooting that left four teenagers wounded happened right behind his house. “This is a quiet neighborhood,” Jones said as he stood in his backyard, looking at the house to the west of his, where a party brought in police from several agencies early Saturday morning.

Clearfield police are still seeking information about the shooting, which happened at a party in the cul-de-sac of 150 N. 1200 West at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

OGDEN — An argument over a milk carton has led to the suspension of nine ninth-graders and an investigation into a tutor.

Law enforcement and Ogden School District are investigating whether David Lopez, a part-time math and language arts tutor, hurt a 14-year-old boy when he and the boy got into a struggle, and what trouble the boy and his classmates may find themselves in.

CLINTON — Colin James Wheeler was charged with mayhem Wednesday in 2nd District Court in Farmington after police say he bit off part of a man’s ear and spit on an officer.
