Kaysville honored for financial excellence

KAYSVILLE -- The city recently received an award for excellence in government finance and reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.

The award was for the city’s comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year ending June 30, 2011.

Farmington’s financial reporting lauded

FARMINGTON -- Officials for the city have been recognized for excellence in financial reporting, for the 11th straight year.

The award is considered the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. He awarded a plaque to Keith Johnson, the city’s finance director, during a recent council meeting.

Syracuse earns award for financial report

SYRACUSE -- The Government Finance Officers Association of The United States and Canada has awarded the city its certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting for the second straight year.

The award is considered the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The award is specific to the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011

Stephen Marshall, city finance director, said he intends to work to receive the award for the city each year.

The GFOA is a nonprofit association serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

Officials for the city have been recognized for excellence in financial reporting, for the 10th straight year.

The Government Finance Officers Association of The United States and Canada has awarded the city its certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting and particularly singled out Keith Johnson, the city’s finance director, in doing so.

The award is considered the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to Galen Rasmussen, of the Utah chapter of the group. He awarded a plaque to Johnson and the city during a recent council meeting.
