OGDEN — The floodwaters might have cleared away, but emergency management crews still have a list of damaged items in need of repair.

OGDEN -- The pain of spring flooding that sent water flowing over the banks of the Weber River is still being felt by those who have traditionally enjoyed recreational activities at Ogden's formerly pristine Serge Simmons Field.

OGDEN -- The water has receded, and crews are busy cleaning and repairing Fort Buenaventura.

OGDEN -- Dinah Novy, accompanied by her dog, Max, eased the golf cart away from Pioneer Park and slowly drove along a paved path next to the swollen Ogden River. Novy, a member of Ogden's Community Emergency Response Team, spent Thursday making rounds along a section of the Ogden River Parkway as part of a city-sponsored volunteer effort to warn pedestrians of the dangers of the fast-moving water.

OGDEN -- As temperatures go from below average to above average, the remaining snowpack could melt off in the next week, leading to more flooding.

In the meantime, emergency managers in Weber and Davis counties are monitoring to see if the first days of summer bring floodwaters.

"We are really just waiting to see what happens and what plays out," Davis County Sheriff's Sgt. Sue Poulsen said, adding that she anticipates Davis County will be all right.

The breach repair project on the Weber River was completed Saturday and early indications are that the fix is holding, according to a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.

SOUTH WEBER — Stacy Clark is expecting to deliver her fifth child at any time. What she didn’t expect to hear was that she may have to find a place for her family to stay if the Weber River fills up the Staker Parson gravel pit.
