Power outage at Freeport Center sends workers home

CLEARFIELD -- Three circuits at a Clearfield substation serving 4,000 customers, including the Freeport Center, lost power early Thursday for just over an hour, resulting in workers at the industrial park being sent home.

New specialty zone in Clearfield to open up tax incentives

CLEARFIELD -- Businesses here will continue to be eligible for tax incentives by participating in a statewide program made possible by a recently approved specialty zone.

Clearfield-based Lifetime Products branches out

CLEARFIELD -- A local company that started out making portable basketball standards in a garage 25 years ago has become the largest manufacturer of blow-molded polyethylene products used in everything from folding picnic tables to kayaks and trailers.

Lifetime Products has been operating out of the Freeport Center for 25 years, mostly selling large quantities to mass retail channels, but their new business lineup includes some retail stores along the Wasatch Front, including in Ogden and Clearfield.

Clearfield road set for 10-month closure

CLEARFIELD — The State Road 193 project is slated to start in the spring, and when it does, the public will experience some major impacts.

The Utah Department of Transportation recently announced a tentative schedule for the massive reconstruction project, part of which includes a complete closure of 700 South west of State Street in Clearfield.

Sentenced George Lee Mitchell, 42, will serve the time in the Davis County Jail.

Man sentenced for threatening to shoot workers at Clearfield company

FARMINGTON -- A man who threatened to shoot employees at Kellogg's Worthington Foods, Inc., located at the Freeport Center, was sentenced to serve four months in jail.

100 to lose jobs as Clearfield oil filter plant closes

CLEARFIELD -- After 43 years of operating in the Freeport Center, Honeywell International, the company formerly known as Fram Oil Filters, is closing its Clearfield plant.

The closure, to take place over the next two months, will result in the loss of about 100 jobs, said Freeport Center Property Manager Betty Parker.
