More than 400 runners lined up on the school grounds to participate in the race that required them to be “blasted” with colored starch throughout the race. Runners ran through the neighborhood surrounding the school, as volunteers tossed handfuls of the colored substance in their direction.

Clearfield High fundraiser features test drives, hands-free parallel parking

CLEARFIELD — Community members test drove brand-new 2013 Ford vehicles on Saturday at Clearfield High School with a twist — there were absolutely no sales pitches. In fact, the folks heading out on the test drives with them weren’t even Ford sales people — they were volunteers from the school.

The reason for the unique car event was Ford’s “Drive 4 UR School” program, set up to help schools raise money to support their sports and extracurricular activities.

Clearfield High was chosen by Layton’s Ed Kenley Ford as recipient of the program this spring in order to generate funding to repair the dilapidated lighting system in the school’s theater.

The cutout campaign coincides with March for Babies, the March of Dimes signature event that occurs in four locations around Utah in April and May.

Team members will sell the cutouts at checkout registers through May 13 and ask customers to sign their name or the name of a baby they love, creating an impressive in-store display.

Benefit race to help with Pleasant View sisters’ medical bills

PLEASANT VIEW — It’s hard to imagine that Natalia, Darbi and Bella Wilson have had such a rough time with their health.

The three sisters look like the picture of health on the outside. But looks can sometimes be deceiving. Even when one appears to be healthy, there can be ugly things going on inside the body, and that is certainly the case for these three beauties.
