OGDEN -- Did you save seeds from the best heirloom pumpkins, tomatoes or onions you grew last year?
If you have spare seeds, you can take them to the Ogden Seed Exchange and trade with your neighbors to try new varieties of heirloom vegetables. (Heirloom seeds are open pollinated, rather than hybrid or genetically engineered varieties.)
The exchange is from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Borrowed Earth Emporium, 2242 Washington Blvd. Admission is free.
Folks are invited to bring preserved food, or treats made with preserves from their gardens, for a potluck at the beginning of the event. Activities also include seed exchanges and workshops on planting vegetables.
Don't have preserves or seeds? Just bring something tasty and try to win donated seeds through a free raffle.
