Beast gets his Beauty at Genesis Project

The brainy and beautiful Belle yearns to escape her provincial life as Christian Heritage School presents "Beauty and the Beast Jr." The play is based on the Disney musical with music and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice

Belle must escape the clutches of her brute of a suitor, Gaston. However, she gets more adventure than she bargains for when she becomes a captive in the Beast's enchanted castle. Dancing flatware, menacing wolves and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in this beloved fairy tale about very different people finding strength in one another and learning how to love.

The show, which includes a cast of 40 students in grades 6-12, is performed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and again at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 2 at The Genesis Project, 270 E. 12th St., Ogden.

General admission tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children age 4 and under are admitted for free. Tickets are available at 801-393-4475 or at the school, 5120 S. 1050 West, Riverdale.
