Independent contractors must be aware of newspaper 'nappers

The picture opens with an eerie shot of a dark cul-de-sac in the early morning hours. The only illumination comes from the house lights in the sleepy Pleasant View neighborhood. Then the headlights of the suspect vehicle appear in the distance. The music starts softly and grows louder as the headlights approach the hidden surveillance camera.

The trap is set, with the bait stacked in the driveway. The vehicle pulls up and stops. The music gets louder.

Smith’s dumps lettuce for health concerns

OGDEN — Most of the Smith’s Food and Drug stores in the Top of Utah have had to dump their wrapped iceberg lettuce because of a possible salmonella contamination.

Top of Utah's Smith's shoppers can help others for holidays

Smith's Food & Drug is offering customers a convenient way to reach out and help others during the holidays.

Through Dec. 31, the store will display a "Bringing Hope to the Table" holiday tree decorated with ornaments representing various levels of cash donations. Customers may select the level of giving and present it to a Smith's checker to add to their grocery order.

Kent's Market buys Macey's spot in Clearfield

CLEARFIELD -- The old Macey's sign went down and a new Kent's sign went up on Wednesday.

Kent's Market is now the owner of the former Macey's Grocery Store location at 580 S. State St.
