ROY -- A boy is in the hospital after what police are calling an accidental shooting.
Officers responded to the area of 5700 South and 4050 West after a gun went off around 3 p.m. Thursday, said Roy Police Officer Hiram Barker.
The boy was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital and later moved to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Barker did not know what the boy's condition was or whether his injury was life-threatening.
"We're investigating right now as an accidental shooting," Barker said. He would not comment on whether police believe the boy had accidentally shot himself or if someone else had pulled the trigger.
