Hastings setting up reading program

Summer break is nearly upon Ogden’s student population, and even though most of them will no doubt feel glad to give their studies a rest for a few months, Hastings Books, Music and Video Store is giving kids an opportunity to keep their love of reading fresh by forming a summer book club.

The club will have different levels of reading groups, with books such as the “Never Girls” series for grades 1-4 and classics like “The Great Gatsby” geared toward older readers. Joining the club should be pretty simple for anyone interested, book manager Stacy Ward said.

Author from Willard has book signing

HARRISVILLE -- Author Gabriel Rincon of Willard will sign copies of his new book, “They Dared to Find Freedom,” this weekend at Hastings.

The book signing will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., on Saturday in the entertainment store at 340 E. 525 North. Admission is free. Rincon will have another book signing in April at Hastings in Logan.
