Hate crimes reported in Utah up in 2011

SALT LAKE CITY — The FBI says the number of hate crimes reported to police in Utah increased in 2011 compared with the previous year.

Suspect in synagogue bombing arrested

LOS ANGELES -- A man believed to be the suspect in the bombing of a Santa Monica, Calif., synagogue has been arrested in Ohio, police said Monday night.

Ron Hirsch, 60, who was wanted in connection with Thursday's bombing at the Chabad House, was apprehended in Cleveland Heights, the Santa Monica Police Department said.

Man accused of hate crime in fire at mosque

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A man accused of setting fire to playground equipment and painting graffiti at an Arlington, Texas, mosque in July was charged Tuesday with a federal hate crime.
