A fall cleanup, which includes disposal of hazardous waste, is scheduled again this year, thanks to a recent contract awarded to an independent company to dispose of the hazardous material.
The city council voted recently to award the contract for removal of hazardous waste, collected as part of the city’s 19th annual Household Hazardous Waste event, to Veolia ES Technical Solutions. The contract is a two-year pact. The council awarded the state firm $40,000 for the contract.
The actual hazardous waste cleanup is scheduled Oct. 15, while the city’s fall cleanup week is scheduled Oct. 10-14.
