U. of Utah receives CDC grant

SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah is receiving a big grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The $2.4 million, four-year grant is for the study of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. The school is one of 11 national centers awarded a total of $5 million in grants from the CDC for the studies.

Utah officials say the money will help continue work begun last year on long-term tracking of 8-year-old children with autism spectrum disorders.
