LOGAN -- Health officials are investigating a new confirmed measles case in northern Utah.
It brings to six the number of cases in Cache County confirmed since early June and 16 statewide this year.
Utah Department of Health spokesman Tom Hudachko says nine cases were confirmed in Salt Lake County earlier this year and one in central Utah.
Bear Valley Health Department spokeswoman Jill Parker says the first case in Cache County involved a child exposed in mid-May. Parker says epidemiologists don't know how the child contracted the disease but are investigating to see if the Cache cases are linked to the statewide outbreak.
Officials say those born after 1957 who haven't received two vaccine doses should get immunized.
These are the first Utah cases since 2005.
