OGDEN -- A body that was found by hunters in Ogden Canyon was identified Tuesday as James Raymond Purdy, an Ogden man who was reported missing by his wife in late June.
Purdy, 60, was last seen by his family on the morning of June 29. When his two children returned home later that day, Purdy was gone.
Officials say the body was badly decomposed when it was found Saturday, making it difficult to identify. Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson said deputies found a set of keys with the corpse and were able to match a key on the chain to Purdy's post office box in Ogden.
Purdy's body was officially identified through dental records.
