From the time he was a child 2nd Lt. Chad Hall, 421st Aircraft Maintenance Unit assistant officer in charge, has had a dream to become a professional athlete.

That dream was achieved March 11 when he was selected and signed to play professional football as a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Well it happened really quick to tell you the truth," Hall said. "This has been a very stressful week for me.

The Salt Lake Bees will continue their long standing tradition of honoring the military during its season opener April 16 with a Military Family Night. Plans are under way to get tickets for military personnel and their families at the reduced price of $7 per person and more information will be published on where to get the tickets as game day approaches.

Veterans from all branches of the military will be recognized for their service in Iraq and Afghanistan. A re-enlistment and enlistment ceremony follow the game before the fireworks.

This year's Survivor challenge, a spin-off of the popular TV show, will take place March 13 at 9 a.m. at the Warrior Health and Fitness Center with 10 rounds of physical and mental challenges. Teams must sign up by Friday, March 12, and should have five members, at least two males and two females.

Airman 1st Class Robby Hedrick, 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs specialist, granted his title of Utah Director for Sadiq Warrior Arts to Cris Crismon, of the Ogden Air Logistics Center Manpower division, during the inaugural Utah Filipino Martial Arts Workshop held in West Haven, Feb. 4.

The workshop was hosted by the Sadiq Warrior Arts Federation, and instructional sessions were taught by Guro Brandon Jordan, the founder of Mandala Mandiriga and director of the West Coast division of the Sadiq Warrior Arts Federation.

When the University of Utah men's basketball team plays Air Force on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. all military, local fire and police department members can receive a free ticket to the game. Additional tickets will be available for family members at a discounted price.

A halftime recognition ceremony for all those in uniform will be held (meet at Portal 2, 10 minutes prior to halftime).

Pre-game activities will include kids on court for introductions (meet at Portal 3, 15 minutes prior to the game).

The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting an inventory of the Test (FV2171) stockpile through Jan. 29.
